Fellow megasquirter and good friend Matt Durys has a Grifith 500. I have made varios parts to enable him to remove the Lucas ECU.

72mm Rover V8 plenum

Matts prototype with brass throttle:

The air inlet pipe on the end has a 3" OD, also i use aluminum for the throttle on all conversions.
I can machine out the "3.9" from the lid if you dont want it, as can be seen on this one.

MEZ 72mm Gems Plenum

OEM Plenum, which is 65mm and them same plenum bored out to 72mm by me.

Conversion notes:

The water jacket under the throttle (which prevents icing in certain climates) can be thin on some castings. On this plenum the wall thickness was 5mm, boring it out leaves 1.5mm.

All conversions have this entire area filled up with epoxy metal. This means the throttle heater will be rendered in-operable, which isn't an issue on Griff 500 engines as TVR themselves left it disconnected anyway.

72mm Plenum prices

If you supply your own plenum for conversion - cost is £105
When I have them in stock, outright plenums are £150
Carriage in UK is about £15 and Europe is about £37 - you are welcome to collect/deliver.

Rover V8 serpentine 36-1 trigger wheel installation

To fit an EDIS 8 to a TVR Griffith 500, you need to fit a ford 36-1 trigger wheel (Part Number 1078767). The wheel is 2mm thick, so I machined about 1.5mm from the damper and a further .5mm from the pulley - the wheel is then clamped between the two.

The salot (dowel) pin, which was removed when turning the register on the damper is then used to secure the wheel in the desired location.

On the water pump, I ground the two protruding bosses down to provide a nice flat surface the simple VR sensor bracket.I also made an aluminium blanking plug for the distributor

Update: Thanks to Antony Pattison who identified the part number as F3DE-6C315-AB (F3DE-6C315-CB is also similar - google the part number)

Contratulations to Matt, who's Megasquirted Grif500 pulled 299BHP at the Grifith Growl dyno day - most were pulling around 250.
Good work - billet and bling free zone!

ACT Products induction pipe

I finally shamed Matt into fitting an air filter on his car. Which meant I had to make a pipe to replace the AFM, which includes a boss for the GM air temp sensor.

TVR Griff 500 Wishbone bush replacement

Here's how to adapt a clarke 10 ton hydraulic press, to press the suspension bushes out. Then shot blasted and powder coated.
